Hundreds of people took souvenir photos with the MS Batory’s lifebuoy. And not surprisingly, the transatlantic liner was deservedly named a floating salon and an embassy of Polish culture. The small Buoy wall lamp was inspired by the ship, which could be called a work of art.
The minimalist lampshade made of three-layer opal glass was hand-blown by local Polish glassmakers. The name of the lampshade comes from its donut shape and which just means lifebuoy. The fixture made of durable natural brass refers to the characteristic shape of the ship’s windows, known as portholes. The lamp is available in two finishes: brushed brass and nickel.
MS Batory was an exceptional, unique ship. Its interior was decorated with beautiful paintings, leather sofas and glass tables in the art déco style. It was travelled by Poland’s elite: politicians, artists, journalists. Every ship must have its lifebelt – that is why our collection includes the Buoy lamp.
