The Bibe lamp catches the eye with its delicate, yet simple and geometric shape modeled after the iconic Bibendum Chair design. The white opal shade in a milky hue is responsible for its underlying aura of femininity, while elegance is added by a simple fixture in natural solid brass, which will be covered in a charismatic patina over time. Bibe is also available in a silver shine nickel version. The two parts are connected to each other by specially designed screws – in a period-specific manner.
The glass shade of the Bibe lamp was created by hand by blowing the glass into a mold. The secret of the incredible charm, unattainable in mass production, lies in the technique – it is not uncommon to notice tiny irregularities in the alignment of the three layers of glass, thanks to which the light acquires depth. Depending on the color of the bulb used, it will get a warm honey or intense white glow.
“A house is not a machine for living. It is a man’s shell, his extension, his release, his spiritual emanation.” The author of this statement is Eileen Gray – the first lady of modernist design. The Bibe lamp is that femininity, softness and subtlety that breaks the strict modernist trend in which it was created.
