Inspired by the most beautiful ship in Polish naval history, filled with phenomenal art déco interiors – the MS Batory – the Busola wall lamp refers to the traditional sailor’s compass, whose characteristic feature was the convex shape in the middle.
The three-layer opal glass shade was hand-blown by local craftsmen. The fixture in natural, beautifully aged brass, which was cast in cast iron, refers to the distinctive, charming windows of ships, known as portholes. The lamp is available in two finishes – nickel silver and brushed brass.
This small, filigree wall lamp will fill the interior with a tender cosiness and a touch of nostalgia. It is an expression of the spirit of the art déco trend – harmonious, simple and with a perfect balance between attention to detail and ornamentation. When creating it, we imagined what our lamp would look like among the beautiful paintings, leather sofas and glass tables that we used to have in Batory – and that is how Busola was created.
